An htaccess file is a configuration file for Apache based servers – stated in our Nginx serve rule – so the file in question is not active at all.

However, our management panel makes it possible to perform most of the operations within the interface itself in an efficient and convenient manner.

If you need to take an action – please contact us and we will be happy to advise and explain how that can be accomplished.

In exceptional cases, there is another possibility – move the site to an Apache-based server. This can be accomplished via the uPress Admin Panel by first contacting the uPress Support Department.

If the ACCESS DENIED error is displayed, this is a server-level block.

This block can occur for a number of reasons. Let’s review the most common:

• Multiple failed access attempts to WordPress Admin

• High number of connections to the database

• Multiple failed access attempts to PhpMyAdmin

• High number of connections by FTP software

You can independently remove the block through this link:

unblock.upress.io

Another option is to open a Support Card with an IP release request.

The Support Card should specify

If you are blocking a very specific site, you can enter the management panel> choose the desired site> Security tab> Blocked IPs> and remove the block from the desired address.
